At this time of differing opinions in our church, we need to remember this
quote from the Apostle Paul: "I hope all of you who are mature Christians will see eye-to-eye with me on these things, and if you disagree on some point, I believe that God will make it plain to you--if you fully obey the truth you have." Philippians 3:15-16. A Prayer for the Church O Lord, you call us, different though we may be, into one faith, one hope, one baptism. You call us to be members of your Body, the Church; what a mystery that is! Help us to be gentle in expressing our differences, honest in our discussions, and wise in our patience, as we grow more fully into your plan for us. Lead us in our variety to that one mountain top by a multitude of paths. Pour your love into our hearts so that we don't interfere with another's journey...to that place where you reign in Peace. Amen. |
